We dont know if your running a mac or a windows machine and which operating system version you have or even if you have a 32bit OS or 64bit. Photoshop should launch Adobe Camera Raw to develop the file. You should be able to open photoshop go to the file menu and select to open your raw file. It will make a difference as to what solution can be found.

I would appreciate any comments.I saved raw files to my desktop however, when I t. My camera is Nikon D810 and I use Photoshop CS6. I clicked "Help > Updates" and it said I was up to date however, I still cannot open my raw files.
